I submit the intro for Hunchback of Notre Dame beats Circle of Life raw.
Especially since the former doesn’t have flocks of pink birds that immediately make me think, “Sure, Disney, you weren’t influenced at all by Osamu Tezuka. Tell us another one.”
This movie was surprisingly hardcore for a Disney retelling of Victor Hugo’s really screwed up story.
It also did a ton of great stuff with God and religion and Catholicism that somehow managed to still be about people and not bring “Why Religion Sucks” into the whole thing, which is aces.
One thing that surprises me is how well the animation has aged. Strangely enough, it looked weird at the time; we weren’t really used to traditional animation blended with computer backgrounds. But now that pretty much everything is computer animated, you can really appreciate how effin’ gorgeous the Cathedral backgrounds are.
Also, God Help the Outcasts is the most honest song featured in a Disney movie. “Honest” meaning it doesn’t feel manufactured specifically to be played in a suburbanite van ferrying kids to McDonalds. It’s raw, open, and genuine.
(Needless to say, there is nothing suburban about Hellfire, ho ho ho. Will we ever again see a Disney villain essentially sing, “Help me Mary, I have an unholy erection?”)
The new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer looks spectacular
it’s just so amazing how nobody could figure out who had the rights to quicksilver so they both announced he was gonna be in their movies and it was like a game of chicken that went horribly wrong
Sansa Stark meme: 1/10 scenes
“Sansa!” The boyish shout rang across the yard; Joffrey had seen her. “Sansa, here!”
He calls me as if he were calling a dog, she thought.
what I really love about this scene is that Sansa is trying to emotionally manipulate Joffrey into going to the most dangerous area of the fight. Don’t tell me she’s just a passive player, she picks her battles where she can and this is her shining moment of defiance.
I have this headcanon where Steve’s son is born with his original health maladies and wants to grow up to be just like his dad - and Steve is confronted with all these feelings of inadequacy as a father because he realizes his son can’t grow up to be like him. But no kid will probably ever be better protected from bullies, considering who all his uncles are. It’s probably just a matter of time before Uncle Tony builds him some really sweet replacement braces (“Should they have spinning rims? I feel like they should have spinning rims.”)
One day we’ll be in a Marvel movie, sitting there as something doesn’t feel right. and as the credits start to roll we’ll know what it is. It will flash up on screen and our hearts will break. “In loving memory of Stan Lee”. There was no cameo in that movie. And there never will be again.
*distant shouting* Hey fuck that guy
Tonight on Game of Thrones 4.01 [x]
So my cat is sleeping between my legs and then this happened and I laughed so hard he woke up.
that’s a potato
Your cat looks like an uncooked chicken
This picture keeps cracking me up.
I love stunt doubles.
PREPARE FOR TROUBLE AND MAKE IT DOUBLE
While I’m silently willing this stupid picture to stop getting notes before it goes all viral or something
that gif is perfect
#walk into the club like what up where’s our soviet boyfriend
why did authors stop naming their chapters i loved it when there was a clever little title for each chapter it was great
imagine bucky and natasha whispering behind steve’s back in russian, just little harmless things like “he’s cute when he’s angry” and “if you tell him he’s got a nice ass he’ll turn the color of your hair” so steve decides he’s gonna learn some russian so he can understand what…
